Ladies Guidelines |
Week Commencing 23 May 2022 A few more matches played over the last week, well done, but only a few booked over the next couple of weeks. Don't delay in setting dates for your Pairs matches please. Please can the winners notify me by email or text, rather than leaving the score cards in the Club House. Correction to the Novices Competition: the winner is the first to 21 score and not ends, and 2 trial ends. Have a good game Welcome and thank you to all the members who have entered this year. We have 45 members playing in 8 competitions in 156 matches over 5 months until the Club Finals on 17/18 September. The draws for the 8 competitions, Championship, Handicap, 2 Wood, Veterans, Novices, Fixed Jack, Open Pairs and Drawn Pairs are listed on the "Competitions" page above, just scroll down to find the matches you have entered. Two changes from 2021, the Novices match will change from a knock-out competition to a league format and Drawn Pairs competitions has now 4 leagues, thus reducing the number of matches per league. A note on the draws, they were all pulled out of a hat and verified. The handicaps are based on progress in last year's tournament and Clock House Challenge, together with feed back from participation in external matches. The most important consideration are the dates that the Rounds, QF, and SF have to be played by, and when, before that date, you will have played that match. So please, start arranging your matches now, contact your opponents and pairs partners and book via the Clock House Rink Diary on the website. Please keep referring back to the dates that the matches have to be played by. Clubhouse rules apply, ie the challenger ( name on top) books the rink, and arranges the marker for singles games. However, the opponents can and should, share that responsibility. This web page will be up-dated regularly so that you, the winners, will know who you are playing in the next rounds. For this to happen, can the winners of each match please contact me: Text: 07914 827 616, email: stevelegge33@gmail.com. Good Luck to everyone. Steve Legge |
Please note the following information
The Challenger(s) should offer 3 date to their opponents. In consideration of our working Ladies these should include an evening and/or weekend choice. These should not clash with county dates. (The Rink Diary offers a provisional date option that must be confirmed within 24 hours). All games can be played at any time before the play by date the earlier the better. All games will need a Score Card which must be completed with details of the Competition, names and date played. (Score cards are found in the right drawer of the desk in the Clubhouse) On completion of a game the score cards should be signed by both players or skips to show the scores have been agreed.and in singles the marker signs too. Place completed score cards in the pockets on the back of the Locker Room Door. Do not update results on the Draw Sheets on the wall, the results will be updated by the Captain or Vice Captain. Remember all single games will need a marker. Scorecards for the Handicap Competition are prepared beforehand showing the winning number of shots to be reached by each player. Find these on the back of the Locker Room Door For the Fixed Jack Competition the rink needs to be prepared before play starts. The Rules are in a folder hanging on the noticeboard if needed. To ease scoring there is a board marked 4,3,2,1 where the winning woods can be placed after each end is completed. This should be found in the locker room! Any questions on any of the competition rules, please ask. All games should be enjoyed by all and wish all entrants the best of luck. Margaret Tinton (Vice Captain) |
